Following Covid we have suspended group work and have no current plans to restart
"The degree to which I can create relationships, which facilitate the growth of others as separate persons, is a measure of the growth I have achieved in myself."
At all turns of life, many things can destabilize our mental health and sense of wellbeing: relationships, work, change, events which happen unexpectedly and are outside of our control. We might also find that the emotions which materialize are conflictual, or may lead to anxiety, ill-health, depression.
Often it can be incredibly difficult to actually ask for help, particularly if, for example, we don't speak Italian or we feel our Italian limits our self-expression. Then we may end up feeling isolated and alone. This is where group work can help.
We believe group therapy offers a safe, confidential and non-judgmental setting where emotions and emotional distress can be voiced, heard and the individual supported by professionals and other members of the group.
The group context and process will provide a place to stimulate change as members explore and observe emotions, interpersonal relationships and share and learn coping strategies for real life.
We have worked together since 2013 in various group settings and also provide couple and family therapy. We would now like to offer group help to English-speakers.
We believe the mix of psychotherapist/counsellor; male/female; Italian/English; two cultures; expatriate/Italian national, has been and is a strength for working together with English speakers in Rome.
